The images capture the immediate aftermath of the destruction of the cattle, however, it is clear that not all of the animals are dead.

The 12 second video, said to have been filmed last month, features distressing footage of dead cows lying inside a farm shed, with two other cows still moving and kicking.

A clearly very distressed man can be heard saying: “Them animals aren’t dead, so they’re not, they are not dead. Look at that animal there. Why are you doing that to them for?”

It has been claimed that some 80 to 100 animals were destroyed in the incident as part of an ongoing investigation by Department of Agriculture staff.

An individual who contacted Farming Life expressed concern at the distressing contents of the video and said it had caused much anger in the area where the farm is located.

She said she has attempted to raise her concerns over the animals’ welfare with the department officials in the area, but would also be writing to Agriculture Minister Edwin Poots in relation to the matter.

A spokesperson said the department was aware of the video but could not comment due to the on ongoing investigations.
