Chance to judge at Saintfield Horse Show

Saintfield Horse Show has announced that double Cheltenham Gold Cup winning trainer Noel Chance will be judging the Race Horse to Riding Horse Class at this year's event.

Saintfield Horse Show will be held on Saturday, August 13, at Tyrella House, Downpatrick.

Commenting on the news, Saintfield Horse Show director Joan Cunningham said: “I am delighted to welcome Noel as a judge for our Race Horse to Riding Horse class.

“The class will once again be sponsored by Downpatrick Race Course. The winner will be treated to a fantastic day for two at the Races on Ladies Day Bank Holiday Monday, August 29.

“The day will start with a delicious lunch in the course’s elegant hospitality suite with live music and craic following the races.”

All competitors taking part will be presented with two free admission tickets for the Bank Holiday meeting and a rosette.

There will be two show jumping arenas featuring hunter classes, in-hand showing for Irish Draughts, Fresians, tradional Irish-bred cobs, ridden cob classes, the Ulster Tatler side saddle, working hunters for horses and ponies, show ponies, miniature horses and pet dog classes.

Returning this year by popular demand is a full range of donkey showing classes.

Don’t forget the ever-popular Delaney’s Musical Donkeys featuring Ireland’s own “Country Harmony” and “Box Car Brian”.
