The North Tyrone Group of the Ulster Farmers’ Union are looking forward to a busy and action packed summer with a host of events to suit all members.
North Tyrone welcomes a new chairman for the forthcoming season, in the form of local dairy farmer Mr David Thompson.
David worked for the UFU policy team for six years and has recently returned to the family farm on Keery Road, Bready, so he will be well briefed on the work of the Union to lead the North Tyrone group for the next two years as chairman.
Entries are will soon be taken for the Winter Barley, Oats, Winter Wheat and Spring Barley competitions which shall be judged within the summer months, please contact the group office to enter.
Members are reminded that Balmoral Show tickets are available in the local group office at a discounted rate.
Members are also reminded about the hospitality at the show provided by both the NFU Mutual and Ulster Farmers Union, so pop along and enjoy some complimentary refreshments.
If there are any farmers in the local area who are currently not a member, but are interested in joining the North Tyrone Group, don’t hesitate to contact Wendy or Lesley. No doubt 2015 will be another challenging and demanding year for the industry and the UFU endeavour to support all members in any issues that may prevail.
