The countdown to Balmoral Show 2017 is on, with just three months to go until the four-day event at Balmoral Park, which takes place Wednesday 10th to Saturday 13th of May.

RUAS and Ulster Bank got plans officially underway this week, and highlighted the array of activities that will take place during the extended show.

This year’s Balmoral Show will run across four days and the extra day means that the Show promises to be larger than ever in terms of footfall, sales and interest.

Ulster Bank will again be the principal sponsor of the Show, which will feature more than 700 trade stands, the NI Food Pavilion, hundreds of competitions and classes, and a wide range of family entertainment.

This year will also see the introduction of a new Health and Fitness Village, plus the significant expansion of the horticultural area.

Up and coming Co. Down artist Aidan Sloan will also be exhibiting his collection of agri-themed paintings throughout the four days and has been commissioned to create a unique print, given away on the Balmoral Show Facebook page this week.

Colin McDonald, RUAS Chief Executive said: “We are delighted to officially kick-off the countdown to Balmoral Show 2017 and are looking forward to making the 149th Show our best yet. We are really excited about having a four day Show this year and hope that the extra day will attract even more visitors to Balmoral Park.

“With the increase in size and scale of the Show, new attractions, and the legacy created from the Year of Food and Drink, 2017 is set to be the most important yet and we are thrilled to have Ulster Bank on board again as our principal sponsor and for playing such an integral role in enabling us to grow the Show.”

Richard Donnan, Ulster Bank’s Head of Northern Ireland, said: “With just three months to go until the doors officially open, we at Ulster Bank are very much looking forward to once again being centrally involved in one of the biggest events in the Northern Ireland calendar.

“Balmoral Show epitomises everything that is great about our local food and agriculture industries and sponsoring the Show symbolises our continuing strong support for this hugely important sector. We will be at the Show to demonstrate the real and meaningful help that we can provide to our customers in these sectors and beyond.”
