There was a strong turnout at the recent 'NICCEC Young Stars of the Future' in Dungannon Farmers Market. This was a first for the club and certainly won't be the last.

The turnout of animals was brilliant with both sections getting outstanding support. The haltered section had 37 and the non-haltered section had 58 entries. Spectators travelled from far and wide to come to this event, cattle even being sold as far as Scotland.

The Williamson Family, Benburb, stood top of the line on the day with “Lexi” claiming Charolais champion followed by taking Supreme Champion of the show. The judge Alan Farlow, no stranger to the show ring, stated during the championship that in his eyes “she had everything that a show animal should have”. This stylish heifer calf was later sold for a sum of £3,400.

Reserve Supreme Champion was awarded to brothers D & R Simpson, Aughnacloy with “Penny Chew”. This was a home-bred calf which on the day was declared Champion Limousin and Reserve Supreme Champion, she later sold for £2,100.
