Castle Tower School were the recipients of the funds donated by the sporting authority.

Raising the money through their National Pony Awards Evening Auction held earlier this year in Kilkenny, the organising committee has equally divided the proceeds between four autism charities in the four regions of Ireland.

Receiving the cheque was Sarah Doherty from the Friends and Parents Association in the school.

Mrs Doherty spoke of her delight and wished to express the sincerest gratitude of everyone in the school, adding: “Parents and Friends Association are so appreciative of this generous donation
as we are constantly fundraising for resources and educational outings for our pupils.”
