Hillsborough tractor road run

Ethel Murdock (Down Battalion BoysÂ’ Brigade) and Helen Coulter (Stroke Association NI) pictured in Lisburn City Centre on Saturday 30th April as they announce details of a Â‘Tractor Road RunÂ’ at 20 Ballyknock Road, Hillsborough on Friday 27th May.

The Tractor Run will commence at 6.30pm with a Barbecue at 7pm and an Auction at 9pm. There will be various attractions for the whole family, including: Rodeo Bull, Mini Digger Competition, Sumo Suits, Bouncy Castle, Face Painting, Photo Booth and more. Profits from the event will be divided between the Stroke Association NI and Rapha Health Centre, Uganda (through the Down Battalion of the Boy’s Brigade).

The price for adults is £10 and children of primary school age £3 (tickets are required for the barbeque).

Rapha Health Centre was funded by the Down Battalion of the Boys’ Brigade in 2014.

It provides affordable health care to people in a very underprivileged area. This year teams will be returning to Uganda to help with a farming project in an effort to provide a means whereby they can move towards being self-sustaining.

On April 25, Ivan Zziwa from the area wrote: “Rapha was put in place in 2014 and I have witnessed God at work since.

Just a few weeks ago I was treated and got healed of deadly typhoid and chest cavity dislocation, which would have required me spend hundred thousands of shillings, but at Rapha only a quarter.

“This is God himself at work as Rapha treats and God heals. Many mothers have delivered at the centre, people from accidents, students and the community have seen the works manifested. With parental care, we thank Down Battalion, and everyone who raise funds.

“I am thankful that I’m now fine and may the glory be unto the Lord of hosts forever, Amen.”
