Police make appeal about theft of five lambs

Police in Limavady are appealing for witnesses and information following the theft of five lambs in the Hill Head Road area of Dungiven.

Constable Mailey said: “It was reported that sometime between 8.30am on 26th October and 8.30am on 27th October, forced entry was gained to a field containing a number of livestock.

“Tyre marks left at the scene would indicate that a vehicle was used to transport the lambs away from the location. The lambs can be identified by red markings to the neck and back.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have any information or to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or to anyone who may be offered similar items for sale in suspicious circumstances to contact Constable Mailey at Limavady Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting 257 on 27/10/16.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
