Friday’s sale saw a full yard of cattle with over 300 dropped and weanling calves and a larger entry of bullocks and heifers. A Hilltown farmer sold a Lim bull calf @ £415. A Sim bull from Newry sold at £400 with a BB bull from Lurgan @ £400. Heifer calves sold to £375 for a Banbridge farmer. Weanling calves were an excellent trade considering the price of beef. A Rathfriland farmer reached £940 for 21 mostly Ch bullocks. A 394k Lim from Loughorne sold at £865. A pen of Lim heifers from Killowen sold to £890. In the heifer section a top of £1120 was paid for a Lim from Kilkeel with £1100 and £1025 for a further two lots. Bullocks sold to £950 for 530k lot from Loughbrickland, £945 from Kilkeel, £925 from Annalong and £915 from Cullion. A Mayobridge farmer topped the Fat cow section @ £805 for a 646k Lim. Sucklers sold to £1000 for a Dromore farmer with springers to £970.
