Entry date looming for Aberdeen Angus November show and sale at Ballymena
Members of the Northern Ireland Aberdeen Angus Club are reminded that the entry date is looming for its inaugural sale at Ballymena Livestock Market on Saturday, 14th November 2026.
Club chairman Caolan McBrien said: “The ‘new look’ Calf Show and Sale is an exciting event in the club’s annual calendar, with a new format and a new venue. The closing date for sale entries is strictly Friday, 25th September; while calf show entries must be submitted on or before Saturday, 31st October.”
The sale entry fee is £80 per animal. Vendors are advised that a £30 refund will apply when the animal is sold. Vendors are also asked to declare if they are willing to complete post-sale export testing.
Each individual entry must be accompanied by the animal’s original pedigree certificate.

Photographs of sale animals will be included in the catalogue, but must be submitted on or before the 25th September deadline.
Entry forms and schedules are also available for the pre-sale Calf Show. This year’s event will be judged by Scotsman Hamish Sclater from the noted Deveron Herd based at Denhead Farms, Dunlugas, Turriff, Aberdeenshire.
The schedule includes three classes for young handlers and 12 classes for yearling bulls and heifers, senior, intermediate, junior and baby 2026-born calves.
Rounding off the judging is a class for a pair of calves owned by exhibitor.
There are also a number of trophies and championship awards up for grabs, including: yearling championship, heifer calf championship, bull calf championship, and supreme overall calf championship.
The entry fee for calf show classes 1 to 12 is £15 per animal. Entry to class 13, and the young handlers’ classes, is free of charge.
Completed entry forms for the annual calf show, and post-show sale, must be accompanied by the relevant fees – cheque or bank transfer welcome.
Members of the NI Aberdeen Angus Club are eligible to participate, and all entries must be property of the exhibitor.
