NFU Mutual donates £2,200 to Friends of the Cancer Centre
NFU Mutual’s Belfast Regional Service Centre has donated £2,200 to Friends of the Cancer Centre through the insurer’s Community Champions Scheme, which supports staff fundraising activities and charities close to NFU Mutual’s key office locations across the UK.
In 2025, the Community Champions Scheme distributed £100,000 to good causes, helping employees make a meaningful impact in the communities where they live and work.
The donation to Friends of the Cancer Centre reflects the charity’s vital work supporting cancer patients and families across Northern Ireland. For over 40 years, Friends of the Cancer Centre has been dedicated to making a real and meaningful difference to cancer patients and their families across Northern Ireland through its life-changing and life-saving work.
In the last year alone, Friends of the Cancer Centre has invested more than £1.4million into local cancer services which is helping to fund and support 51 additional staff, which includes 21 specialist nurses; support local research and providing practical support, such as financial grants, which help families through a difficult time.

Denise Falls, Fundraising Officer at Friends of the Cancer Centre, commented: “We are incredibly grateful to NFU Mutual for this generous donation. Support like this makes a real and lasting difference to cancer patients and their families right here in Northern Ireland. A contribution of £2,200 could help fund 88 hours of specialised nursing care from the charity’s nurses, offering comfort, reassurance and expert support during an extremely challenging time.
"Friends of the Cancer Centre relies on the kindness of individuals and organisations across the community, and we are truly thankful for NFU Mutual’s continued commitment to helping us deliver life-changing and life-saving services.”
Speaking on the donation, Lauren Finlay, NI Regional Manager at NFU Mutual, added: “Our Community Champions Scheme is designed to support colleagues who are passionate about making a difference. Friends of the Cancer Centre provides invaluable support to people across Northern Ireland, and we’re proud that our contribution will help the charity continue its vital work.”
