Judging was in the skilled hands of Neil Barclay, Harestone, Aberdeenshire who made swift work of placing an outstanding entry of Salers cattle.

Taking the breed Championship back to Northern Ireland was the three
year old young cow “Drumlegagh Galaxy”, who was
also top of the judging honours at the recent Balmoral Show.

This was just the start for the Elliott family who also secured the Reserve Championship with their young bull “Drumlegagh Hamish”. Not to be outdone the youngest member of the show team “Drumlegagh Kyra” was placed Reserve Female and Reserve Junior Champion.

This is a tremendous achievement for John Elliott and family, made extra special by the fact that all cattle were bred by themselves.

The Highland Show is one of the largest agricultural platforms in the United Kingdom and attracted a record 188,000 visitors to the event this year.

This includes many thousands from throughout Ireland who make the annual trip across to the show.
