The Feed Executive agenda included updates on the ongoing Nutrients Action Programme process, recent European legislative developments, the newly launched Women in Agri-Leadership Programme, and the Agri-Rural Health Forum’s sepsis awareness campaign.
NIGTA was pleased to welcome Conall Donnelly, recently appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU), as guest speaker at the lunch, which was well attended by NIGTA members.
Members valued the opportunity to hear Conall’s insights on the opportunities and challenges facing the agri-food industry, and also welcomed his perspective on the importance of collaboration between the various agri-food trade bodies.
NIGTA has long enjoyed a positive and constructive working relationship with the UFU and looks forward to continuing this partnership in the years ahead.
The lunch also marked the final NIGTA members’ event for Chief Executive Gill Gallagher, who is stepping down from her role after five years with the Association. NIGTA President Aidan Fisher paid tribute to Gill’s dedication and hard work on behalf of the organisation throughout her tenure.
Reflecting on her time with NIGTA, Gill said it had been a career highlight and a privilege to work with the Association and its members. She thanked everyone for their support and wished NIGTA and its members every success for the future.
