1000 head to be sold at Jalex breeding sheep sale

James Alexander has a busy few weeks ahead of him and his team as they prepare almost 1000 breeding sheep for their Jalex on farm Production sale which is to take place on Thursday evening, 30th July 7pm at Gloverstown Road, Randalstown.

In the rostrum will be auctioneer Richard Beattie who just this week has moved to a new online sales platform. All customers new and old need to register via https://beattie.marteye.ie/ to ensure they are able to bid from home in addition to those spaced round the sale ring.

Due to current social distancing regulations the sale will be for buyers only with spectators who usually attend encouraged to watch via the online sales link or the live stream that will be on facebook.

There are glowing reports of how well the Jalex sheep have performed for several years now on farms throughout the country.

James has found that customers return year after year as the breeding females are highly fertile, good mothers and very milky.

This is the biggest offering from the Jalex flock presenting an excellent opportunity for sheep producers to source genuine replacements and also ideal for recipient work.

The catalogue comprises of 450 Suffolks out of Cheviot Mule ewes (NC Cheviot ewe x traditional Blue Leicester Tup) 100 Suffolks out of Scotch Half Bred ewes (NC Cheviot ewe to Border Leicester Ewe) 100 Straight Suffolk Cheviot Hoggets. (Wicklow cheviot ewes)

150 Cheviot Mule bred gimmers, (NC Cheviot ewe x Traditional Blue Leicester Tup)

20 Beltex Blue Leicester gimmers, 20 Blue Leicester x Texel gimmers. 50 Scotch Mule Gimmers. 100 Cheviot Mule draft ewes (four crop ewes) 15 Suffolk Shearlings, three Suffolk Ram Lambs. Selection of Aberfield Shearlings (Blue Leicester X Texel) Selection of Suff x Tex Shearlings.

All sheep will be Toxo and Enzo vaccinated well before the sale so that they can go straight to work.
