CAFRE offers both Honours and Foundation Degrees in Agriculture, Horticulture, Food and Equine and graduates are highly sought after by employers in the agri-food industry.

So much so that 92% of graduates are in relevant employment or undertaking further study within six months of graduating.
Degree courses are validated by either Ulster University or Queen’s University Belfast. Greenmount Campus in Antrim offers Agriculture and Horticulture, Loughry Campus in Cookstown offers Food and Enniskillen Campus delivers Equine courses.
CAFRE’s ethos is ‘learning by doing’, therefore all Degree courses have an important practical element. The scientific theories, management skills and production practices taught in the classroom are experienced in the superb practical facilities at each campus.

The significant importance of ‘learning by doing’ has been reflected in CAFRE’s commitment to provide students with practical, hands-on learning opportunities during 2020.
This time last year Ellie Kee and Alison Donaghy were applying for Degree courses through UCAS and made contact with CAFRE for advice.
Ellie said: “I found researching courses and completing my UCAS application stressful but when I contacted a CAFRE Careers Adviser, who explained the courses and discussed the state of the art facilities on offer I was much clearer on the direction I wanted my career to take.”

Alison added: “CAFRE offers fantastic industry links and I was impressed by the range of bursaries on offer to students.
