Belgian Blue cow sells for £2125 at Clogher Mart

Another good entry of 1112 cattle on offer at Clogher Mart for the week ending 13th March met an excellent demand for quality lots in all sections.

In the fatstock ring 246 lots listed sold to an exceptional demand producing another record price for a 2012 Belgian Blue cow weighing 850kg selling to £250 per 100kg totalling £2125 for an Irvinestown producer this was followed by another Belgian Blue 790kg from a Lisbellaw producer selling to £244 per 100kg totalling £1927-60.

Cow heifers peaked at £223 for a 730kg Limousin £1627-90 for a Maguiresbridge producer followed by a 590kg Limousin to £213 (£1256-70).

Fleshed Friesian cows sold to £135 for 710kg (£958-50).

Fat bulls sold to £1456 for a 1040kg Charolais to £140.

Fat steers sold to £219 for a 630kg Charolais (£1379-70).

Fat heifers sold to £222 for a 580kg Charolais (£1287-60).

In the store rings suckler cows sold to £2140 and £2060.
