Charity Christmas show and sale at Markethill mart raises over £40,000

The organisers of the event have said they are ‘completely overwhelmed’ by the support they have recieved for a charity which is very close to their hearts.
A Facebook post on Friday stated: “Our family has been completely overwhelmed by the support we have received over the last number of months, and we sincerely thank you for this. Last night highlighted yet again the generosity of our farming community that we are so proud to be part of.

“From boluses at £800, a toy tractor at £600, cow at £2450, not to mention the country will be coming down with apple tarts.
“The livestock on display was second to none (full report to follow) and the sale ring was flying!!
”Thank you so much to our customers who bought stock, brought stock, our staff who donated their wages from last night, the local businesses who donated to the auction and raffle and to every person who bought auction items and raffle tickets.
“Your generosity will enable the vital work of Cancer Fund for Children who support sick children and their families,” the post concluded.
