Clogher venue for the Spring Charolais sale

The Northern Ireland Charolais Club is holding its annual Spring Sale at the new venue of Clogher Valley Livestock Market, Station Road, Clogher BT76 0AH on Friday, 23rd April at 7pm.

A total of 31 pedigree Charolais bulls and two pedigree heifer entries have been received from vendors across Northern Ireland.

View the catalogue at www.charolais.co.uk. The Spring Sale is kindly sponsored by Moore Concrete, Ballymena. All animals will be veterinary inspected on the evening of the sale and sold under the National Beef Association Warranty.

The NICCS is inviting customers to invest in a Charolais, introducing a new incentive for buyers. The Northern Ireland Charolais Club will give £200 back to the purchasers of the first seven animals to sell for over £3500.

Terence McGarrigle hails from Belleek, Co. Fermanagh where he runs three Charolais bulls on his herd of 100 continental crossbred cows.

The Charolais sire can be crossed on a wide range of different cow types, reiterating the fact Charolais are ‘The breed to improve all breeds.’ Terence has been successful winning the NI Charolais Suckler Herd Competition within Fermanagh region for two consecutive years.

Terence likes to use the Charolais sire, as it is predominant for producing top quality calves that always succeed with best price per kilo through the sale ring.

Charolais cattle command top prices for weanling calves, with Mr McGarrigle selling the majority of his top-quality calves at local livestock markets averaging 300 kilos at over £3 PPK.

Commercial producers are clearly seeing the advantage of purchasing Charolais bulls for top prices for calves and easy calving genetics that the sire offers.

Customers can either contact the mart office to register as a ringside buyer or go directly to www.cloghermart.com to register for online bidding. Further details are available from the mart office Tel. 028 855 48279. A huge thank you must go to event sponsor Moore Concrete, who very kindly sponsored the Spring Sale held in the new venue of Clogher Valley Livestock Market.
