From the 2 to the 4th October, 2026, senior members of Collone YFC enjoyed a wonderful exchange with Lower Nithsdale YFC in Dumfries and Galloway.

The Scottish exchange has been long awaited by the clubs members with 21 travelling across for the weekend.

The exchange began on Friday with members getting the boat before meeting their hosts for the weekend, after some settling in both clubs joined together for a pizza and social night which was very kindly hosted by the Hyslop family.

Collone YFC would like to thank the Hyslops for their hospitality, it was very appreciated. It was a great evening which allowed everyone to get to know each other for the weekend ahead.

On Saturday members enjoyed a range of farm tours which allowed them to experience Scottish agriculture whilst getting to know the members of Lower Nithsdale further.

The club visited both Townhead and Acrehead before stopping for lunch at a local ice cream parlour at Drummuir. In the evening the members enjoyed a host and exchanged dinner before soaking up the local culture through a game of themed pub golf.

Sunday rolled round too quick and saw the final farm tour of the weekend at Netherwood before a final get together for breakfast at the Galloway Arms.

The members had a fantastic time in Scotland and wish to thank all the hosts for accommodating everyone.

Preparations are now well underway for the return leg to Northern Ireland which will take place from the 20th-22nd of November, where members will show Lower Nithsdale the best Northern Ireland has to offer.
