Cow heifers selling to £1573.20 at Clogher Mart

A massive entry of 1420 cattle on offer at Clogher Mart for the week ending 10th April produced another very firm demand with quality stock selling to premium prices in all sections.

In the fatstock ring 380 lots listed sold to a very strong demand with cow heifers selling to £228 per 100kg for a 690kg Limousin (£1573.20) for an Omagh producer this was followed by a 700kg Blonde d’Aquitaine to £216 (£1512) for a Dungannon producer.

Beef cows sold to £201 for a for a 760kg Shorthorn beef (£1527.60) for a Pomeroy producer. with a 780kg Limousin selling to £200 (£1560) for a Magheraveely producer.

Fleshed Friesian cows sold to £134 for a 780kg (£1045.20) for a Cookstown producer.

Fat bulls sold to £160 per 100kg for a 1260kg Charolais (£2016) for a Florencecourt producer.

Fat steers sold to £218 for an 830kg Limousin (£1809.40).

Fat heifers sold to £234 for a 600kg Charolais (£1404).

In the store rings heavy steers sold to £1950 for a 890kg Limousin (£219) rising to £253 per 100kg for a 710kg Blonde d’Aquitaine to £1800 with most others selling from £214 to £238 per 100kg.

Medium weights sold to £1180 for a 490kg Charolais (£241) rising to £272 per 100kg for a 400kg Limousin to £1090.

Smaller ones sold to £860 for a 315kg Limousin.

Store heifers sold to £1770 for a 790kg Charolais (£224) rising to £246 per 100kg for a 650kg Limousin to £1600 with most others selling from £219 to £244 per 100kg.

Medium weights sold to £1270 for a 500kg Limousin (£254) rising to £261 per 100kg for a 475kg Charolais to £1240.
