A smaller entry of 1120 cattle presented for sale at Clogher Mart for the week ending Saturday 6th March met a very firm demand for quality lots in all sections.

In the fatstock ring 249 lots listed sold readily with beef cows selling to a top of £217 per 100kg for a 770kg Limousin to £1670-90 for a Clogher producer. followed by an 840kg Charolais to £210 per 100kg to £1764 for a Magherafelt producer. Cow heifers sold to £1470 for a 700kg Limousin to £210 per 100kg for a Clogher producer and selling to a top of £223 per 100kg for a 640kg Belgian Blue to £1427-20 for a Greencastle producer.

Fleshed Friesian cows sold to £132 per 100kg £1003-20 for a Cookstown producer.

Beef bulls sold to £1543-50 for a 1050kg Charolais at £147 and selling to a top of £169 per 100kg for a 880kg Charolais (1487-20).

Fat steers sold to £220 for a 710kg Simmental.
