Dairy stock sold to a top of £1600 at Markethill on Tuesday 25th August paid for an in calf Holstein heifer from a local producer and for a calved Friesian heifer from an Aghalee farmer.

CULL COWS

160 cull cows returned a very firm demand with beef bred cows from £140 to £177 per 100 kilos for 658k Limousin at £1165 from a Gilford producer followed by £172 per 100 kilos for 650k Limousin at £1115 from a Glenanne farmer. Fleshed Friesian cows sold from £115 to £132 per 100 kilos for 740k at £985 from a Camlough farmer and up to £1045 for 802k £130 per 100 kilos for an Armagh farmer. Second quality friesians from £105 and the poorest types from £70 to £85 per 100 kilos.
