An entry of 60 dairy stock at Markethill on Tuesday 21st November sold to a top of £2000 for a calved second calver from a Portadown producer.

The same owner sold two calved heifers at £1880 and £1820.

A Keady farmer sold three calved heifers at £1900, £1880 and £1600 and a Richhill producer received £1760 for a calved heifer.

A Jerrettspass farmer sold three calved heifers at £1760 and two at £1700 and a Whitecross farmer received £1740 and £1600 for calved heifers.

An entry of seven Friesian heifer dropped calves sold at £300 each.

Generally demand for dairy stock was quieter with good quality heifers selling steadily from £1300 to £1700 each.

The 100 cull cows returned a firmer demand for all classes.

Good quality beef bred cows sold from £150 to £195 for 750k at £1475 from a Benburb producer.

Friesian cows sold to £136 for 678k at £925 for a Richhill farmer and for 704k at £955 from a Newry producer.

Main demand for fleshed Friesians from £125 to £130.

Second quality from £100 to £115 and the plainer cows from £75 to £90 per 100 kilos.

An increased entry of 170 calves sold in the best trade for several weeks.

Good quality bull calves sold to £470 each paid twice for Belgian Blue followed by £405 and £400 for Charolais bull calves and Simmental calf sold at £390.

Main demand for good quality bulls sold from £300 to £380 each.

Plainer types bulls from £240 to £280 each.

Heifer calves sold to £340 for a Charolais and for a Belgian Blue.

Main demand for good quality heifer calves from £250 to £320.

Second quality heifer calves from £160 to £230 each.

Bull calves

Belgian Blue £470; Belgian Blue £470; Charolais £405; Charolais £400; Simmental £390; Belgian Blue £380; Charolais £380; Hereford £375; Belgian Blue £375 and Belgian Blue £375.

Heifer calves
