Edwin Poots meets with farmers in South Down area

A wide range of industry representatives from right across the South Down constituency travelled to Glenloughan to take the opportunity to meet with the Agriculture Minister.

Also in attendance was Slieve Croob DUP councillor Alan Lewis.

Mr Poots outlined in detail the work he has carried out during his time in the role of Agriculture Minister.

He provided updates on ongoing initiatives and discussed the challenges the industry faces moving forward.

Those in attendance greatly appreciated the time Mr Poots spent talking to everyone who had individual queries.

As a rural constituency, South Down is particularly affected by very specific issues.

Diane Forsythe said she is “very proud” to represent the area and “privileged to have such experts as party colleagues” who she works closely with for the benefit of her constituents.

The event, held on Monday 24 October in Glenloughan Orange Hall, has been described as a “good networking event for local farmers”, with Ms Forsythe planning a schedule of ongoing engagement.
