EFS reminder for farmers on completion of work

The Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU) would like to remind members who have an Environmental Farming Scheme (EFS) tranche three agreement, that they have until the end of December 2020 to complete works.

If farmers have submitted their Single Application Form (SAF) and now realise that they will not be able to complete all of the EFS work claimed for by the end of the year, they must withdraw their claim using an EFS SAF3.

The amendment form, which is similar to the Basic Payment Scheme, can be used to reduce their claim except where they have been notified of an inspection.

The amendment form can be found at the following link: https://www.daera-ni.gov.uk/publications/environmental-farming-scheme-saf3-form-2020.

It is important to note that farmers must also complete EFS online training before the end of 2020. To do this go to Cafre.ac.uk and log in to ‘Student Portal (CAFRE online)’ with your ‘business ID’ as your username.

Your initial password will be ‘Password’ followed by the last three digits of your postcode (this system is case sensitive).

For more information, visit the following link: https://www.daera-ni.gov.uk/publications/online-training-efs-agreements-guidance-documents.

If farmers fail to complete/withdraw claimed work they cannot complete or do not complete the training by the end of December 2020, this could impact their payments.
