Former Massey Ferguson photographer releases podcasts

Building on the success of his book, ‘My Life as a Photographer with Massey Ferguson’, Ted Everett is releasing a series of podcasts giving voice to his memories and experiences working for the famous farm machinery firm.

The podcasts, available on YouTube from 16 November, feature Ted in conversation with another former Massey Ferguson employee, Campbell Scott, previously Director Marketing Services.

Based in and around Coventry, Ted was employed as a photographer for the Massey Ferguson agricultural equipment brand from 1952 to 2018. He captured the products, the people and the events of the firm on camera throughout his 66-year career. Late last year, he published a book charting his career, illustrated with over 300 of his photographs spanning seven decades. The book is a unique new perspective on an important chapter in MF’s history as well as a fascinating collection of anecdotes from the company’s longest-serving employee.

Recorded at the Massey Ferguson Club in Coventry, the new podcasts elaborate on the stories in the book, as well as exploring new material that never made it to publication.

“Many people who read the book contacted me with further questions and also added their own insights to the events I described,” says Ted. “We thought a series of podcasts would make a great companion to the book and give us the chance to dig deeper into some of the stories.

“For example, one of the biggest talking points with readers - and something we discuss in the podcasts - was the Ferguson LTX 10 tractor, the machine that made it all the way to prototype during the 1950s but was never launched,” he explains. Ted’s first podcast is available on the Tractormaster channel.
