Lights, engines, action! Festive fun in Fivemiletown

With over 150 tractors participating last year, many sparkling with festive lights and decorations, this year’s run will also be open to vintage and classic cars, ensuring there will be something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Having raised over £20,000 for Air Ambulance NI and St Mary’s Primary School in recent years, a donation from this year’s proceeds will also be made to Fermanagh Women’s Aid.

Families will be lining the streets to watch the tractors and cars as they make their way around the route, and enjoying the fun and entertainment on offer throughout the day.

Chair of the PTFA, Sinead McGovern, said: “We’re incredibly excited about our third annual Festive Tractor Run, as we’ve seen this event go from strength to strength and enjoy even more support from local families and businesses. The Tractor Run has become a real highlight of the Christmas season in Fivemiletown, and we know people will come from far and wide to watch the incredible display. Without the amazing sponsorship from local companies, many of whom donate directly and provide prizes for our raffle and auction, this event would not have been the huge success we’ve seen in recent years.

“This year we particularly wanted to acknowledge the hurt and heartache that many local families have experienced, and we’re delighted to be working with Fermanagh Women’s Aid to make a contribution to their work. Our partners at Air Ambulance NI are also excited to be part of the Run again this year, as we continue to raise both vital funds and awareness of their lifesaving working. If any local businesses would like to add their support this year, there’s still time. “Keep an eye on our social media to find out more about the fun activities we’ll be planning on the day for all the family. Highlights include face painting, balloon modelling, live entertainment, refreshments, and lots more. Don’t forget to let us know if you’re planning to bring a tractor or car along to participate, and if you’re planning to watch, make sure you arrive early to secure the best spot to see the fantastic parade of tractors and cars going by. We look forward to seeing you there!”

Registration for the Tractor and Car Run will take place at Clogher Valley Rugby Club from 12pm on Sunday 28 December, and the outward parade will commence at 2pm.

Further details on entertainment will be available on the St Mary’s School Fivemiletown PTFA Facebook page.
