New record price of £2254 set at Clogher Mart

Another large entry of 1276 Cattle on offer at Clogher Mart for the week ending 17th April produced a very strong demand for a lot of quality stock presented in all sections.

In the fatstock ring 300 lots listed sold to a very firm demand with another new record price set at £2254 for a 980kg Limousin cow at £230 per 100kg for a Clogher producer this was followed with a 850kg Limousin cow to £222 totalling £1887 a 780kg Belgian Blue sold to £226 (£1762.80) and an 800kg Belgian Blue to £216 (£1728) all from the same producer. A Lisbellaw producer sold a 910kg Charolais to make £198 (£1801.80).

Cow heifers sold to a top of £222 per 100kg for a 690kg Charolais (1531.80) followed by a 700kg Charolais at £220 (£1540).

Fleshed Friesian cows sold to £134 for a 710kg (£951.40).

Fat bulls sold to £1716 for a 1100kg Charolais tom £156 and selling to a top of £166 per 100kg for a 780kg Limousin (£1294.80).

Fat steers sold to £232 for a 680kg Limousin (£1577.60).

Fat heifers sold to £240 for a 670kg Charolais (£1608).

In the store rings dairy heifers sold to £2250 and £2020, suckler outfits sold to £1580 for heifer with heifer calf.

Heavy bullocks sold to £1960 for a 860kg Charolais (£228) rising to £243 per 100kg for a 740kg Charolais to £1800 and a 710kg Limousin to £1730 (£243) with most others selling from £228 to £240 per 100kg.
