NI Water makes a splash at awards

NI Water was named overall runner up, receiving the ‘highly commended award’ at the recent Chartered Accountants Ireland Published Accounts Awards, runner up to FT top 100 company DCC.

The awards celebrate the best in corporate reporting across the island of Ireland and covers listed companies, state bodies, private companies and charitable organisations.

NI Water’s Annual Integrated Report 2019/20 was commended for telling a simple story supported by infographics and a digital platform. NI Water also received the Corporate Social Responsibility/Sustainability award in recognition of its approach to reporting on the creation of long term sustainable value for society aligned with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals 2030.

Infrastructure Minister, Nichola Mallon commented: “I want to acknowledge the recognition that NI Water has received with this award, which is a clear endorsement of the levels of excellence that can be achieved within the public sector. It is testament to the hard work and effort of the team in producing such quality reporting standards that are amongst the best in Ireland.”

Ronan Larkin, Director of Finance & Regulation, NI Water, commented: “It is truly an achievement worth noting for a Government Owned Company to win this award in such a competitive field.

“In a time when we are struggling with the current health crisis and funding restrictions, this achievement is an opportunity for us to simply pause and reflect on the magnitude of the transformation of NI Water into an exemplar of industry excellence.”
