Racing year finally gets off the ground

The NIPA were in Tullamore for their first race of the season.

Due to an unfavourable weekend forecast race-marking was postponed for 48 hours and the birds were released in Tullamore on Monday 08-06-20 at 11.45am into a northerly breeze.

At the time of going to press the likely winner of 1st Open NIPA is the master Ronnie Williamson of Newry & Dist. More information and full results in next week’s issue.

ULSTER FEDERATION

The Ulster Federation were in Mullingar at the weekend for their first race of the 2020 season. The birds were liberated on Sun 07-06-20 at 11.45am into a northerly breeze. It was a close finish with the top seven birds all on the same ypm. Topping the Ulster Federation (TBC), and having a dream race, winning 1st 2nd 3rd Glen Invitation & 1st 2nd 3rd Open Ulster Federation (Prov) is Joe Ward. Joe’s three birds are all bred down from his Bandiet Cock from M&D Evan’s. Second cock over the pad was a great grand son of L Magee & Sons Penzance Y/B National Winner. Congratulations Joe on your top performance in the opening race of the 2020 season.
