The Santas making their way through Saintfield on a previous charity ride

The date had to be rescheduled from last Saturday because of the recent lockdown.

The Santas will meet at Andrews Yard at 50 Lisburn Road, Saintfield at 11am for a mulled wine and mince pie reception before mounting up and riding into town.

Organiser Joan Cunningham has said all Covid-19 guidelines will be adhered to.

She said: “We want everyone to enjoy and really get into the Christmas Spirit after such a hideous year. All I want for Christmas is that every man woman and child who takes part or who comes to see the ride will have a wonderful happy and safe day.”

The new route and approximate times are as follows:

1 Leaving Andrews Yard 50, Lisburn Road, Saintfield at 12/noon

2 Saintfield roundabout

3 Ballynahinch Road

4 Drumnaconnell Road, 12.20pm

5 Plantation Road, 12.30p

6 Listooder Road, 12.50pm

7 Old Grand Jury Road, 1pm

8 Crossgar Road, 1.10pm

9 Saintfield Main Street, 1.15pm

10 Home to 50, Lisburn Road.
