A smaller entry of 800 sheep in Markethill on Monday 27th January sold in a steady demand.

Good quality heavy hoggets sold from 610-650p/k which was paid for 24.3k at £158 for an Armagh farmer, followed by 643p/k for 24.1k at £155 from a Newry producer.

Several pens of overweight hoggets sold from £162 to £167 each.

The entire entry of heavy hoggets averaged £159 each.

Good quality midweights sold from 630-671p/k for 20.5k at £137.50 for a Markethill farmer, followed by 671p/k for 20.8k at £139.50 for a Moira producer.

Good quality stores sold from 664-717p/k for 17.5k at £125.50 for a Markethill farmer.

The same owner received 697p/k for 17k at £118.50.

Fleshed cull ewes sold from £140 to £222 and plainer ewes from £80 to £130.

In the breeding ring ewes with doubles sold to £405, £390, £380, £370 and £365.
