UFU Executive Committee give green light for drive-in AGM

The Ulster Farmers’ Union has confirmed that it is on course to hold its proposed drive-in annual general meeting (AGM) in late July.

This was agreed online by the UFU Executive Committee. Chief executive, Wesley Aston, says that provided the event satisfies Northern Ireland Executive rules that are being reviewed and relaxed, the drive-in AGM will hopefully take place at Balmoral Park, Lisburn and will ensure that they have their new president in place by 1 August.

“We are glad our novel approach was fully supported by the members of our Executive. It is not the way we would have wanted members to meet, but many things are different now. We believe this is the best way to deliver an outcome as close as possible to a normal AGM and we will now move into the detailed planning stage for this unique event,” said Mr Aston.
