Upper Bann DUP Assemblyman Jonathan Buckley has called for a strategy to be put in place after he voiced his concern over the figures surrounding cancelled medical appointments.

The Upper Bann MLA said: “The Department of Health have released figures revealing that 1,780 elective (planned) medical appointments have been cancelled within the Southern Trust since the beginning of Covid-19 restrictions on March 18th.

“I recently commented on the pressures non-Covid services are facing at present, and these figures present the stark reality of these disruptions.

“It is now essential that we recognise the severe impact of medical cancellations and a strategy must be put in place to reset non-Covid services as safely and efficiently as possible.”
