'I have never, and will never make this platform just about me' - Claudia Carrick talks about unintended backlash from blog 'Life as Mrs Carrick'
There is little doubt that at 23-years-old Claudia Carrick has her hands full with two boys under two-years-old, a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis and a penchant for always being busy.
She is a no-nonsense yet happy farmer’s wife on maternity leave from her busy office job.
Claudia admits she started her content creation “out of a little loneliness, a need to connect and interest in content creation” during her second maternity leave.
"Another reason for starting the social media was, although you are not talking to anyone, you get some interaction during the day,” she said.

“I want new mother’s and some farmer’s wives to see that they are not on their own in feeling lonely.
“I have never, and will never make this platform just about me,” she said. “I am here to show other women what real life really is on maternity leave as a farmer’s wife.
"I get lots of messages from women who resonate with what is happening in my life and about their loneliness”.
"I want to be relatable as well, because I know that a lot on social media is not real life,” she added.

Claudia said her posts about being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis “made an impact” with readers.
"The warmer weather does help it but then it just flares up,” she said.
"If I overdo something one day I will pay for it the next. But I try to take every day as it comes now,” she added.
But perhaps her most read posts were about the impact of miscarriage on her.
"I talked about miscarriage because I don’t think it is talked about enough,” she said.
"Men don’t talk about it enough and keep it to themselves,” she added.
"And I know it is awful for men as well but they don’t seem to show emotion like women.
“Matthew just kept going after my miscarriage, whereas I took time off work, which I needed.
"Miscarriage has a massive toll on a woman and you feel your world has come to an end.
"Because it is not talked about enough, you don’t know if all the things you are feeling and going through are normal.
"When I was going through it all there was no-one to tell me what to expect.
"And having a pregnancy after a miscarriage is difficult because you don’t sit back and relax, it is a question of constantly checking and trying to make sure it doesn’t happen again”.
Claudia joked that she “always said she would never marry a farmer”, before she met Matthew.
The couple met through the church before Covid, dated during the pandemic and got married in July 2022.
“To be honest I always said I wouldn’t marry a farmer, but I ended up marrying one,” she said.
"But it has all come together and I love my life now.
"I do love going out and helping on the farm.
"I used to do it all the time before we married and the boys came along.
“I know some people do, but for me it is too dangerous and just not worth it.”
She said she has received negative comments “after covering controversial subjects like my faith and miscarriage”, but Claudia feels it is a matter of “each to their own and if people don’t want to hear it, they can switch off”.
"Everybody believes in something different, so if they don’t like it they can block me.
"I won’t be offended,” she added.
