Multiple arrests after searches for drugs in NI town
Three people have been arrested after multiple searches for drugs in Co Armagh.
In a blitz against the drugs problem, the PSNI carried out a number of searches in various locations in Lurgan.
A 25 year old man was arrested on suspicion of various drugs offences following a search at a property in the Lurgan Tarry area of Lurgan yesterday (Thursday 22nd April).
A PSNI spokesperson said: “A quantity of Class B controlled drugs and other items were seized during the operation and the man has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.”
After a separate search on Thursday April 15, a teenager was arrested.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police arrested a 17-year-old male on suspicion of a number of drugs offences, including possession of Class B and C controlled drugs, and theft.
“A number of items were seized during a search at a house in Lurgan on 15th April, including mobile phones, a bank card, and a quantity of Class B and C controlled drugs.
“He was subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries.”
And in another search on April 15 a woman was arrested.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “A 49 year old woman was arrested on suspicion of various drugs offences following a quantity of suspected Class B controlled drugs were seized from a property at the Gilpins Mews area of Lurgan on Thursday 15th April.
“She was later released on police bail pending further enquiries.”
