Easier trade for fat lambs at Markethill

An entry of 2010 sheep at Markethill on Wednesday 28th September returned a slightly easier trade for fat lambs.

Stores continued to sell in a very firm demand.

Heavy lambs sold from £78 to £83 each with good quality pens from 310p to 330p per kilo for 24kilos @ £79.20 each for a Richhill farmer.

Middleweight lambs sold to 374p per kilo for 21.4kilos @ £80 each for a Dungannon farmer. All good quality pens sold from 325p to 362p per kilo.

Store lambs peaked at 406p per kilo for 17kilos @ £69 each for a Kilcoo farmer. All good quality pens sold from 370p to 403p per kilo.

Cull ewes sold to £80 each. Main demand sold from £65 to £78 each. Plainer ewes sold from £45 to £60 each.

Breeding hoggets sold to £155 each. Several more pens sold from £120 to £130 each.

Rams sold to £360 for a Shearling Texel.
