Limousin breeders turn on the style at annual dinner

The NI Limousin Club recently held their annual dinner dance and prize giving at the Tullyglass Hotel, Ballymena which brought together breeders from right across the province.

The dinner was tremendously well supported much to the delight of chairman Henry Savage.

In addition to the large crowd of breeders, the club were delighted to welcome many of their sponsors who had supported them in their activities throughout the year.

A special presentation of Waterford crystal was made on the evening to Heather Hume who is retiring as club secretary.

Heather has worked tirelessly to promote the Limousin breed, and also maintain the smooth running of this busy club.

Henry Savage thanked Heather for all her efforts and wished her well in the future.

NI president Jim Quail and wife Brydlyn were also presented with a bouquet in recognition of the work that Jim puts into the club and the breed. He has served on society council for 18 years, and always has the breed’s interests to the fore.

The highlight of the dinner is the revealing of the results of the 2016 herds competition which attracted a strong entry in both the pedigree and commercial sections.
