Although small, the club always had the ability to stand on a national stage amongst the best in the country.

This September, saw many things change for Garvagh YFC, but in many ways for the better.

The winter programme, which was designed by the elected committee for the club has a vast array of in and out meetings, exciting and educational content which fully encapsulates the YFCU theme this year Innov8.

On Tuesday 13th September, the club introduced their members to a brand new venue for club meetings at Garvagh Community Building, which allowed lots of space for all the fun and games which ensued on their first night back.

Garvagh Young Farmers’ Club was delighted to welcome 23 new members into their club, which saw club numbers nearly double.

Club secretary Judith Linton was delighted to see new faces and said: “It’s great to see so many young people wanting to join this year.

“I think we’ve got an excellent team, an unique programme and even more exciting things to come - watch this space.”

The new and old members alike were encouraged to get involved in all the games and document the antics with the new club Snapchat filter which was specially designed for the first night back.

Another addition to the club fun night was the picture frame, so that all the posers in the club can be in their element.

One new member described her first night in the club: “It’s great to be a part of something where everyone is so friendly and instantly you feel at home because there’s so much laughing and joking! The games were so fun and I loved the Snapchat filter. It was great and I can’t wait until the next meeting.”

Tuesday also saw the new Garvagh office bearers conduct their first club meeting as a team and they couldn’t be happier with how well the event was received.
