Bakers at Blissful Bites mark 20th anniversary

It’s two decades since Blissful Bites was set up by Praxis Care in Portadown - but not even the COVID-19 crisis could stop tenacious trainees.
Blissful Bites continued rolling out their hugely popular produce throughout the pandemic - much to the delight of their many dedicated customers.
Apple pies and tray bakes still remain a decided favourite.
The bakery which marks its 20th year of operation trains and employs adults with learning disabilities.
Trainee Mark James (pictured) aided by support workers and bakers Deborah Smith (left) and Kate McCartney (right) has been pumping out 42 of the prized pies every week throughout the year to local retailers in Lurgan and Portadown.
The pies and other baked goods including rocky roads, 15s and shortbread are made using apples from Davison’s Orchard, and dairy products and flour sourced locally.
The Praxis Care site has been in operation for 20 years.
