More than 5,000 book vaccine appointment within hours of system going live

More than 5,000 people, aged between 65 and 69, have booked a vaccine appointment since the system went live last night.

Southern Health and Social Care Trust issued a plea for those trying to book a vaccine appointment not to call the South Lake Leisure Centre in Craigavon directly.

It said: “Since going live last night over 5,000 people aged 65-69 have booked their COVID19 vaccination appointment online.

“Demand for the online system remains high, please be patient.

“Those aged 70 and over will be contacted by their GP about vaccination.

“Please DO NOT phone the Vaccination Centre at South Lake Leisure Centre directly.

“All bookings must be made via https://covid-19.hscni.net/get-vaccinated/

“Please be patient.”
