Police are urging east Antrim motorists to keep to main roads if possible during the current cold snap.

The appeal follows reports of traffic incidents in Carrickfergus and Larne today (Monday).

PSNI Mid and East Antrim stated: “Folks, A reminder to be careful on the roads today. We’ve received multiple reports of vehicles getting stuck on the Woodburn Road, Carrickfergus due to the ice and one unlucky road user getting into an accident on the Ballyvallagh Road in Larne.

“Please drive safely and keep to the main roads if possible.”
