These are the UK cities most and least likely to see Leap Day proposals
Leap Year tradition has it that 29 February is a day every four years where women propose to their partners, should they desire to do so.
But which cities in the UK are the most and least likely to take up this ‘Leap Day’ proposal tradition?
Cities searching for ‘Leap Day’ proposal information
Research, carried out by jewellers William May, has analysed search volume data for 25 major UK cities, in order to reveal which places are actively looking into this tradition.
However, at the other end of the scale, Swansea, Southampton, Hull, Sunderland and Plymouth all had low levels of search intent around ‘Leap Day’ phrases. These were therefore predicted to give the practice a swerve.
The cities of Sheffield, Coventry, Belfast, Derby, Stoke-on-Trent, Wolverhampton, Bradford, Preston, Newport, and Leicester then fell somewhere in the middle, with just average levels of search intent around ‘Leap Day’ phrases.
