André was editor of LondonWorld.com from January 2023 until May 2024, having previously edited the Ham&High, Islington Gazette, Hackney Gazette and Brent & Kilburn Times. Before that he ran titles in Devon - Exmouth Journal, Sidmouth Herald, Midweek Herald, North Devon Gazette - and spent a long period at the Surrey Advertiser, based in Guildford, where he worked his way up from trainee reporter to head of print. And before that he had a long-forgotten career in finance - the natural start for someone who grew up on Guernsey - while harbouring dreams of being a rock star.André is a Spurs fan, for his sins, but lives in Islington, almost within earshot of Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium. He has previously lived in Kensal Green, Camden and Hackney. André maintains an interest in music and has written about the rock and pop music which is so central to the heritage of London.
