Fancy taking home your very own straw knot? Well now you can with straw workshops, courtesy of Armagh Rhymers who will also be storytelling on the night.
If that’s not enough, make sure to dawn those cowboy boots for a bit of barn dancing with Miskelly Barn Dance. Originally based in Lisburn, Doreen Miskelly started calling Square Dancing back in the 1970s and later husband Alec joined Doreen to form The Misks.
Today, Mark continues the family tradition and you can be sure he has been taught everything he know’s by Doreen herself who still keeps a watchful eye over proceedings.

The Misks barn dancing, set dancing or square dancing was rather unique in Northern Ireland and indeed throughout the UK as very few musicians have the skill to be able to play the music live on keyboard and call the dancing at the same time.
Councillor Uel Mackin, Chair of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Development Committee is looking forward to the evening already.
He said: “Events like Harvest & Harmony showcase the best of what Lisburn City Centre has to offer, catering for all interests and ages. Market Square, in particular has experienced significant revitalisation recently and we have celebrated this with an extensive events schedule planned for 2016 and beyond. Whilst visiting the city centre, we encourage you to call into your local café, shop, bar or restaurant.’”
