The Larne group have started into the winter programme season and kicked off the programme of events with a tour of Jim White’s vintage tractor and machinery collection in September.

Approximately 40 members attended the event and were treated to a personal tour of the immaculate Massey-Harris and Massey-Ferguson machinery with almost each item having a story behind it. The members enjoyed a bit of supper and a catch up to finish off the evening.

The October meeting was a joint enterprise with the South Antrim and Ballyclare groups hosted at Ballyclare Golf Club. The theme of the meeting was Finance & Technology with presentations from Gareth McDonald (FarmDrive), Seamus McCaffery (S P McCaffery & Co Accountants) and Sam Johnston (NFU Mutual) that gave members plenty of food for thought in an ever-challenging compliance orientated world that farming is not immune to.

Coming up in November is the Co Antrim Dinner on Friday, 6th November at the Dunadry Hotel, followed by a bus trip to Livingstone’s Farm and SlurryKat in Co. Armagh on 12th November. If wishing to purchase tickets for either event, please contact the Group office on 028 2827 2728.
