Ballinrees Tractor run choses Rural Support for this year

Ballinrees Cultural and Community Society have chosen to support “Rural Support” for their now sixth annual tractor run. The run will take place on Saturday 12th September 2026 commencing from Ballinrees lane at 11.00am.

This is the second year they have chosen to support this charity. The committee is conscious of the many worthy charities in need of support but has again decided on Rural Support, a registered charity to provide a range of programmes and services for farmers and farm families to support personal wellbeing.

The farming community in Northern Ireland continues to experience challenges and adversity year on year, whether it is battling with weather, compliance measures and even illness and bereavement, the charity provides high quality programmes and services to help farming families and their businesses.

Our tractor run, now in its sixth year, has supported a number of very worthy charities, and we look forward to even greater support this year. Favourable weather this year to date has enabled farmers to have much of the harvesting operations completed, hopefully leaving tractor drivers with more freedom to support these charity events.

The Society have chosen a similar route to last year, starting from Ballinrees Lane along Windyhill road, Ballystrone road, Dunhill road into Ringrash road, Blakes road, Gorticavan road, along Dartries lane, up Sconce road to the top joining Windyhill road and down hill to the starting point.

The chosen route gives drivers the opportunity to take in the beautiful scenery we enjoy living on the North Coast from the Antrim hills to the Atlantic Ocean. The charge for tractors vintage and modern is £15 which includes a free burger lunch for the driver. Burger lunches are available for supporters of the charity from noon on the day and we look forward to this continued support from the general public.
