Rural Chaplaincy to hold four-night evangelistic mission at Rathfriland Farmers Co-op Livestock Market

The Rural Chaplaincy is planning an evangelistic mission at Rathfriland Farmers Co-op, God willing, from Thursday 29th October to Sunday 1st November. In a world filled with bad news, the message will be Good News – the very best news; God’s Son, Jesus, who died and rose again, to take away our sin and guilt, and give us certain, forever hope.

Kenny Hanna will speak at the Thursday, Friday and Sunday night meetings. Simon Walsh, a member of the Rural Chaplaincy team, will speak at the Saturday night barbecue. Light refreshments served.

Each evening, we will think about “What Matters Most”:

Programme

  • Friday 30th October, 8pm: Are Bigger Barns Enough? Jim Henning (Rural Chaplaincy team) leading. Vi Dawson, a local farmer’s daughter and former school principal, will share her testimony. Praise led by Fiddlin’ Home.
  • Saturday 31st October, teens and young adults’ BBQ: Barbecue served at 7.30pm, with the programme beginning at 8.15pm. Dean McCann, a young farmer, will share his testimony. Praise led by Ballygawley youth.

The Rural Chaplaincy team is asking Christians to pray for the mission and to invite their friends and neighbours. “We believe it is absolutely vital that Jesus’ followers pray for this mission,” a spokesperson said. “Jesus has plainly told us, ‘apart from me you can do nothing’ (John 15:5), and ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain’ (Psalm 127:1).”
