Diabetes UK invites local community to Live Well Day

Diabetes UK Northern Ireland is hosting a Live Well Day at Craigavon Civic Centre on Thursday 12 November, offering free information, advice and support to help people living with diabetes manage their condition and connect with others.

The event runs from 10.00 – 13.00 and will give members of the community the opportunity to hear from healthcare professionals and the Diabetes UK Northern Ireland team, access resources to support their diabetes care, and meet other people living with the condition.

Supported by the National Lottery Community Fund, the Live Well Day is part of a five-year project that aims to offer support and give advice to people living with, or at risk of, diabetes across Northern Ireland.

Across Northern Ireland, almost 120,000 people are living with diabetes. A further 88,500 people in Northern Ireland have prediabetes and are at increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes during their lifetime.

With almost 120,000 people living with diabetes in Northern Ireland, and many more at risk, it is essential that we continue to meet the increasing needs of our communities.

“Thanks to the support of the National Lottery Community Fund, we’re able to positively impact the lives of many by helping them reduce their risk or manage their condition well. The Live Well Day is a fantastic opportunity for people from across County Armagh and beyond to come together, connect with others and access diabetes-related advice. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the event.”

The Live Well Day is free to attend and booking is not required.
