Lough Erne Resort celebrates standout awards season

Lough Erne Resort is celebrating a remarkable run of awards success this October, following its latest triumph at the AIB BusinessEye Awards 2026, where it was named winner of the Tourism & Hospitality Award.

The prestigious accolade, presented at the awards ceremony in Belfast, recognises the Resort's contribution to Northern Ireland's tourism and hospitality industry. Praising its continued commitment to investment, innovation and excellence, the judges commended Lough Erne Resort for its ambition, noting that “Lough Erne Resort doesn’t rest on its laurels and keeps investing to maintain itself as a top UK destination hotel”.

The celebration follows a double victory at the Fermanagh Business Awards earlier this month.

Presented at the Killyhevlin Lakeside Hotel and Lodges, the awards brought together businesses from across the county to celebrate local achievement, innovation and success.

The Excellence in Tourism award celebrates businesses that deliver exceptional visitor experiences and make a significant contribution to Fermanagh’s economy and reputation as a destination. For Lough Erne Resort, the win recognises its role in welcoming visitors to the Fermanagh Lakelands and showcasing the county’s hospitality and tourism offering.

The Digital Excellence and Transformation award recognises businesses that use technology to enhance customer experience, improve efficiency and drive growth. The award adds a further dimension to the resort’s success, recognising digital innovation alongside the quality of its visitor experience.

Commenting on the resort's latest achievements, Jonathan Gallagher, marketing director at Lough Erne Resort, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive three awards in such a short space of time. To be recognised at both a Northern Ireland and local level is incredibly rewarding and reflects the hard work, dedication and passion of our entire team.

“The BusinessEye award is a fantastic recognition of what we strive to deliver at Lough Erne Resort every day, while our two Fermanagh awards are particularly meaningful because of our strong connection to the local community.”

Mark Ward and Jeff Mahan of TRU Hotels and Resorts LLC, the US-based operators of Lough Erne Resort, added: “We are proud to play our part in bringing visitors to the Fermanagh Lakelands. For us, showcasing Lough Erne Resort goes hand in hand with showcasing everything that makes this county such a wonderful place to visit.

“These awards are a credit to our whole team, whose hard work, ideas and care for our guests make the difference every day. To be recognised for both tourism excellence and digital innovation is something we can all be very proud of.

“Thank you to BusinessEye, the Fermanagh Herald and everyone involved in the awards, and congratulations to all our fellow winners who are helping to raise the profile of Northern Ireland's business and tourism sectors.”

The luxury resort welcomes guests for leisure breaks, golf, spa stays, dining, weddings and business events, with the Fermanagh Lakelands at the heart of its visitor experience.
